Mark Schreiber provided ASIS Security Training for Security Managers in New Orleans

During the week of June 9th, Mark Schreiber was one of the featured instructors for ASIS International's "Facility Security Design" training workshop in New Orleans, Louisiana.  As the role of Vice-Chair of the ASIS Security Architecture and Engineering Council,  Mark Schreiber presented on the many efforts of supporting the security systems design for a facility's capital construction project.  Mark Schreiber covered Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Design Basis Functional Requirements for Security Systems, Control Room (i.e. SOC/GSOC) Design Considerations, Security Systems Integration designs, and Design Coordination & Systems Convergence.  Specific focus was put on the principles of CPTED in their design applications, the expectations & value of the multitude of Detailed Security Design Documents, the complexities of planning and designing an optimal Security Control Room (a project unto itself), addressing complex security systems integrations and physical/cyber security convergence, the importance of developing & supporting a team approach for the construction team (Owner/Consultant/Integrator), and the ultimate importance for Security Management to focus on the fundamental goals and requirements for their facilities to achieve success.  The group was also extremely fortunate to take part in an incredible behind-the-scenes security tour of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome led by the Superdome's Security Management (SMG).  Many thanks to the Superdome/SMG team and ASIS.  A great deal of positive feedback was received, including some of the highest evaluation scores seen by ASIS in recent history.  More information can be found on the ASIS website:
